Support Ukraine

Sulamita Church is striving to use every connection and resource to help the people affected by war. Since late February 2022, we have sent more than $100,000 of humanitarian aid to Ukraine, received and helping over one hundred refugees and dispatched dozens of volunteers. These are ongoing efforts and we are actively working with trusted local partners on the ground to keep the supply of food running to war-ravaged areas, keep transportation fueled to deliver aid and evacuate people from war zones, and help refugees seeking shelter in the US. See below for details about our recent efforts and consider partnering with us to help the people of Ukraine.

We have been receiving multiple families of refugees every week since late February, and are continuing to do so through the Uniting for Ukraine program. If you would like to assist with housing, household goods, or in any way, please fill out this form:

To contribute financially, you can do so securely through the link below. All proceeds will go to sending aid to Ukraine and providing first assistance to local refugees. The greatest needs are:

  • Food relief to eastern Ukraine

  • Fuel expenses for evacuation routes

  • Food and basic necessities for people displaced by war in Rivne, Lviv, Poltava, Kharkiv and other regions

  • Support families who have lost one or both parents

The church hosted a cultural event in May to raise funds and increase awareness of how local individuals and businesses can help the people displaced by the war, both in Ukraine and the local refuges in the Puget Sound.

Sulamita church has been sending volunteers to serve as coordinators and translators at the border and in shelters in local churches in San Diego, CA. Marina served in the kitchen of the Spring Valley Community Church temporary shelter, making sandwiches and salads for refugees 5am to midnight for a week. She also organized a fundraising campaign to purchase basic necessities for a disabled mother and her child refugees.

The church donated and shipped 70 boxes (3,700 lbs) of food, clothing and hygiene products to Sarny, Ukraine, in April to help internally displaced families that are being supported by the local church there.

Sulamita is supporting half-dozen churches and organizations in several oblasts to deliver aid to eastern Ukraine. Here, volunteers are preparing to depart from a church in Zhytomyr oblast to deliver aid and evacuate refugees, with financial support from Sulamita.

Sulamita transferred more than $30,000 to churches in Rivne and Zhytomyr oblasts to finance food and gas purchases.
