The Short History of the Slavic Pentecostal Church “Sulamita”
Slavic Pentecostal Church “Sulamita” was born in April of 1996, when a group of 35 people decided to come together and worship God. In 1998, the church was registered with the State of Washington, and started growing. The place of worship was a rented Lutheran church in Lynnwood. In 2004, the rental church became too small for all the members, and there was no bigger church in the area. That is when, the members decided to buy their own building.
With the great effort from the members and with help of the loan from the Assemblies of God the church bought an old warehouse in Mukilteo. In 2007, after three years of renovation and paperwork, the building was complete and the certificate of occupancy was issued. The church began a new chapter in the new building.
Currently, the church has about 730 members, not including children and youth, and it continues to grow. There are Sunday school and Native Language classes for kids, Bible studies for youth, and prayer services for all on a regular basis. Every summer there is a baptism service for those who want to follow God and become His servants. The ministry of the church is expanding.
Recently, the members decided to open a Bible Seminary, to give an opportunity for those who seek God’s wisdom to learn His Word. All these years, we have seen the Hand of the Almighty guiding us and helping us. To Him we give all the glory, for His is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever.
